Well my friends, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I have been working on this for the past month. Well, not *this* particular item, but the DL flyer design as a whole. This is what I've come up with.
The flyer is to promote a show that I'm co-producing, due for performance in August. It's a new musical, and it's flippin' awesome!
Anyway, the original picture of the girl was drawn by Nadine Whitelock (the writer's sister), and scanned in. Then added a coloured textured background... probably didn't go about the following in the best way, but I layered the image of the girl with text to create the effects and shape a few times over. Used lighting effects on the background, layered the finished girl symbol on top, and finalised the text this evening - had all the right look, just not the right font. Shanon found this one for me, and I think it works well.
So there you have it! My first design/advertising piece!
This is a front, and I shall post the back as well.

The blur effect on the background gives me an uneasiness, which I kind of like... An element reflecting drama, great! The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is the date/time/ph offset... Maybe a little more central? It might be just me?.... I also like your choice of colours and tones, the whole thing is blowing me away actually!
